So, if you are looking for what you need to start your workouts well at the beginning of the year, you are in the right place. It is the first Prozis parcel of the season, and as always, I made my selection based on what I genuinely use, not on what looks pretty on a shelf. We are going to open it together, product by product, and I will explain what each one is for and why it has its place in my gym bag. Between the supplements and the textiles, there is plenty to cover, so settle in.
The supplements, the heart of the session
Let us start with the most important, what truly supports the effort.
The BCAAs and the collagen, my cocktail
I went back to zero BCAAs, so named because they contain almost no sugar. They are amino acids the body does not make, and which support muscle recovery during the session. My trick, I mix them with my red fruit collagen in a single shaker, the lemon and the woodland fruits make a surprisingly good cocktail. Two benefits, one glass, I never tire of it.
The pre-workout, to push harder
A novelty I am testing for the first time, a pre-workout, a blend of carnitine, green tea, cayenne pepper, theanine and caffeine. Its role is simple, to help you push harder during the effort. And unlike the BCAAs which act on recovery, this one acts on energy, the two complement each other rather than overlapping. I will give you a more detailed report once I have really put it to the test.
The fuel and the care
To go the distance and recover afterwards, two discreet essentials.
The bars and the soothing gel
The peanut protein bars are my emergency energy boost, perfect in the bag for a long day of hiking, they pick you up without weighing on the stomach. And then this soothing gel, which I first took for a shower gel, turns out ideal after a big session, when the muscles start to tremble with fatigue. I have three tubes, enough to give one to a friend.
The textiles, the morale as much as the technique
And here is the try-on part, because good sportswear is also motivation.
Socks, set and joggers
Let us start with fleece-lined socks, and believe me, a good pair that holds the foot without slipping or smothering, that changes a whole session. The navy and burgundy shorts and bra set is gorgeous, with that honeycomb V waist at the front, a material that does not shift even after several washes, and at the back, that little elastic that nicely shapes the seat. A real good investment. And to finish, a nice warm lined pair of joggers, bought in a men’s size for lack of the colour in the women’s range, perfect for lounging and for my contemporary dance classes in this freezing cold.
Enough to tackle the season
With this selection, I really have everything to train well, the supplement that supports, the bar that saves the day, the gel that soothes and the outfit that lifts the morale.
