There is that moment, you know it for sure, that moment in front of the wardrobe where you look at your heels, where you love them, where you find them gorgeous, and where a little anxiety still creeps in… because you know, deep down, that they are going to put you through agony. So you hesitate, you work out how long the evening will be, you wonder whether you will really last. And between us, why did we accept for years that suffering was part of the deal? For a long time I believed it was the price to pay for a pretty line of leg. I no longer believe it.
Why I am giving Cosy Island another go
So this is my third collaboration with this brand, and if I keep coming back, it is no accident. I live in a town where almost the entire ground is cobbled… so you can imagine that for a heel, it is a trial by fire. Most of the pairs I have owned would have demanded I walk like a tightrope artist. These, no.
The famous Prozone sole, the real argument
The heart of the matter is not the leather or the colour, it is what lies under the foot. The third-generation Prozone sole genuinely cushions the impact, and you feel it from the very first steps. As someone who loves walking in heels, I can assure you the impact is absorbed, not just promised on a label. It is that invisible little detail that changes everything, because a beautiful heel that hurts remains, in the end, a beautiful heel you do not wear.
A heel you slip off under the table is not an elegant heel, it is a trap you set for yourself.
The Serpent Chic, the ones I will wear everywhere
Let’s start with a pair of court shoes, the Serpent Chic, and they are probably the most versatile of the three.
A slender line, a sensible height
We are on a fine, elongated line, with a snake-pattern heel detail and a luminous beige colour, perfect for spring. The height, 8.5 cm, is what I call an honest height, neither too high nor too cautious, just enough to lift the silhouette without turning walking into a circus act. Personally, that is exactly the balance that suits me.
Comfort put to the cobblestone test
I have already worn them, and I can confirm, they hold the foot well without squeezing the toes (this point may seem trivial, it is not at all). On my cobblestones, it was a real delight. They are the kind of court shoe that modernises a very simple outfit, a straight jean, a flowing dress, and that works just as well at the office as at a dinner or on a date.
The Power Walk, the bold confidence of 11 cm
Now this, the energy clearly shifts. This pair does not go unnoticed, and that is exactly the point.
A T-shaped heel and a hint of the seventies
The heel is T-shaped, original, almost sculptural, and it carries all the character of the shoe. We climb to 11 cm, but with a 2 cm platform at the front that offsets the arch and redistributes the weight. The result, you are high, but you stay stable, and believe me, at 11 cm stability is not a luxury. The front reveals the toes, which I find discreetly sensual and very retro, a real nod to the 70s.
For when you want a presence in the room
When you arrive somewhere in this kind of heel, I can guarantee you will not go unnoticed. It is not an everyday pair, it is a statement pair, the one you choose on the evening you want to own the space with style.
The cream Slimback, delicacy for the big days
Let’s finish with the most refined, the most delicate, a pair designed for special occasions.
Fineness, strap and a floral touch
The heel is 10.5 cm, with, here again, a small front platform to soften the arch, and a strap that secures the hold. What I love here is the visual lightness of the whole, an almost airy delicacy, with a ribbing on the side that draws what look like little flowers. It is understated, it is elegant, and there is something very Grace Kelly in this silhouette, a timeless refinement.
The wedding pair par excellence
In this cream colour, this is clearly the model I am keeping for a wedding, a ceremony, a chic event. I honestly cannot wait to be invited somewhere just to bring them out… (yes, I sometimes buy the shoes before the occasion, I will let you judge me).
Beauty or comfort, do you really have to choose
The real question, deep down, is the one I was asking in front of my wardrobe at the start. Do you have to sacrifice your feet for a pretty line? My answer, after these three pairs, is no, not anymore. You can choose a shoe for its beauty and keep it for its comfort, the two are no longer enemies. And if I had to keep just one piece of advice, it would be to always look at the sole before the heel.
Caroline’s code, if you want to take a look at the collection, is YT10WILDY for 10% off Cosy Island. I leave it for you, with no pressure, because the question of comfortable heels keeps coming up in your messages.

PS. My two questions of the day stay open, and I would really love your answers, do you choose your heels for their beauty or for their comfort… and have you yet found the perfect pair?
